Heacham Parish Council serves as a statutory consultee on all planning applications within the parish. The Lighting and Watching Committee is responsible for reviewing and commenting on planning applications, appeals, and related planning matters. Additionally, this committee oversees village infrastructure, including footpaths, roads, street signs, streetlights, dog and waste bins, public seating, and general community issues.

Lighting and Watching Committee meetings take place in the Parish Office, Old Friends Hall, Sunnyside on the first Thursday of each month, starting at 7:00 PM.
